Summary: Shuuhei = NOT a morning person.
Awareness was slow to come to him and when it did it was about as welcome as an army of arrancar.
Shuuhei rolled over to lie on his back, cracked an eye open only to be greeted by a familiar ceiling that wasn’t his own and groaned.
He hated waking up at Kira’s house.
He reached out with his arm and found the warm but empty space beside him.
Hated that Kira was the early bird between the two of them and hated how he almost always woke up alone.
How the blankets and sheets always got tangled around his legs even when Kira made sure they were arranged over them perfectly the night before.
He also hated how bright and sunny Kira’s room was, making going back to sleep almost impossible. He hated that fact almost as much as he hated how soft and warm Kira’s bed was and how that, coupled with Kira’s unique scent in the sheets, made it hard to want to be fully awake.
From outside the room he heard the sizzling of oil in the wok and the banging and clanking of more pots and pans. The scent of food wafted into the room and Shuuhei threw the blanket over his head.
He hated how much noise Kira made in the kitchen when cooking breakfast.
Hated how it smelled so good it almost made him want to get up.
He also hated how loud the soft hiss of the door sliding open sounded to him. How that made it funny that he couldn’t hear Kira’s footsteps approaching the bed.
“Good morning, Hisagi-san!” A voice chirped and he pulled the blanket down just enough to see Kira’s smiling face and a tray of his favorite breakfast.
He blinked once and threw the blanket over his head once again.
God, how he hated the morning person that was his lover.
